Brand Sprint
In our brand sprint with the client we determined a style that would appeal to their users. We used tools from google ventures such as Personality Sliders and What How Why? to help align the clients core values with a visual approach to the product We compared and contrasted possible competition to determine elements that might be necessary for the app. After we determined the their core values, the clients and the agency participated in this sprint to get different perspectives on how we saw the product. These methods gave us the ability to pull from everyone's ideas and send the product in the right direction.
MVP Scoping
After we determined the visual style that suited not only the client's but the users need, we then had the task of determining what was necessary for this specific product. The team used MVP scoping, personas and anti-personas to narrow down the almost infinite possibilities of features that could be included, plus who we were or weren't designing for. We started with listing out all that could possibly be included and called it MVP 1 then stripped things that could be released at a later date and made that MVP 0. I would say this was the most difficult part of the process because the MVP was constantly changing throughout the project, for better and worse. This took weeks to determine what should be in the first release of the app (MVP 0) so we had to set a design freeze to prevent anymore changes. Every time that the client thought about dramatic changes we were able to steer them in the right direction of what was best for the users with these tools.
MVP 0 Requirements
● This solution should allow the user to view public portfolios.
● This solution should allow the user to have the ability to turn off / on parts of public profile.
● This solution should allow the user to share portfolios & like comments.
● This solution should allow the user to connect with friends or be anonymous mode.
● This solution should allow the user to view a discover page to see what stocks are popular in their community.
● This solution should allow the user to share a portfolio via link to group chats and other groups the user may be part of.
● This solution should allow the user to receive notifications - Daily Surprises, Insights to bring people back into the app.
● This solution should allow the user to view a watchlist of their possible investments
Hooked Modeling
A difficult task we had to figure out was how to get people to go back to the app. To figure out the best solutions we used hooked modeling to figure out the cycle of Trigger, Action, Reward, Investment. This helped us determine the types of notifications and external triggers to have a person go back to the app, share portfolios and other connecting actions.

From Ideation to Prototype
Over the past 8 weeks we have slowly chipped away at the MVP and I designed most of the system. As I was the main contact with the client I had many meetings to discuss changes to make sure that as we progressed through the project we were on the same page. We used Figma and Miro programs to assist with the design of the system.
Conclusion
We were able to successfully able to handoff our design with the clients development team and I am the main contact just in case any issues arise. This project taught me how to effectively communicate to clients, create MVP scope, create visual hierarchy, and development handoff as a product designer. I am excited for the release on the app store because this project gave me the real world experience necessary to be an effective designer that will able to help clients bring their products to life.
